Our universe is expanding at certain rate which is called the Hubble constant. Scientists have calculated this to be between 50 km/sec/Mpc and 100km/sec/Mpc. However, a recent value that is decidedly more accuraate is 72mi/sec/mpc. What this means is that an object a megaparsect away from us is moving away at 72km/sec/Mpc. This object is not actualy moving away but instead the space between us and it is expanding. I would be like drawng two dots on a balloon, then blowing it up. As the balloon expands the distance between the points grows.
The cube theory hypothysizes that our universe exists on the surface of a four dimentional sphere. However, if this sphere was static our universe would have no time infact their would be no existance. If the sphere is expanding not only would the surface be expanding but every point on the surface would be expanding at the same rate. We would only exist on the three dimentional surface of the sphere and thus we have no ability to move in the fourth dimention. But, because the sphere is expanding we expirience time.
Now we will get into Einsten. In his theories he states that everything is relative. What does this mean? For example, if you are sitting at a computer on the earth and you are not moving your speed relative to the earth is 0. However relative to another planet, say jupiter, your speed would be non-zero. Basicaly, relative to different things you have different speeds. Einsteins Special theory of relativity says that two objects moving relative to each other in non-accelarated motion experience time differently. Neither object can tell which one is moving tward the other so they both witness the other object expiriening time slower. What im getting at is that if an object is moving fastyer in the three dimentional surfface of the sphere then its motion in the fourth dimention would decrease. Thus, as einsteins theory stipulates for an object moving relative to another object it will experience time slower.
